Sweet, tasteful and filled with vitamins!
These melons come with all kinds of green rinds and mostly with red flesh. But can be found with white, yellow, pink or orange flesh too. Watermelons can be round, oval or oblong shaped and come with or without seeds. Their weight varies from just 1 pound up to even 40 kilos! All though all melons are said to contain lots of vitamins, watermelons are practically multivitamins unto itself. They contain high quantities of vitamin A, B6 and C, as well as potassium. Watermelons contain even more lycopene (the red pigment in plants that provides antioxidants and carotenoids) than any other fresh fruit or vegetable. This makes watermelons not just a very sweet and juicy snack, it makes it a very healthy snack as well!
